Reflection: Spiritual Protocol Part I

There is protocol, rank and order for the divine and demonic kingdoms in the spiritual realms. The enemy understands this oftentimes better than we do as People of God. We do not have to tolerate illegal, unwarranted attacks and harassment from the enemy. This can be directed towards you, your family or any pillar of your life.

We have the authority and power to speak the Word and rebuke him in the name of Jesus. But we must be fully submitted to God and in a place of obedience. When we are out of order and not in the will of God, it undermines and weakens our authority and power in the spirit. This makes our words weak, hollow and powerless.

Sin is the only way the enemy is given legal, warranted, authority to attack anyone. If there is a doorway open in someone's life, it must be closed. This will prevent the enemy from entering by that same avenue. The term or coined phrase “spiritual doorway” is used to describe the avenue for sin operating in a person’s life, either directly, through spiritual contamination or outright rejection of the Word.

Some ways the enemy may have license to operate may include, but may not be limited to: witchcraft, immoral sexual behavior, drugs, generational sins, spiritual contamination, rebellion etc. The avenue by which the enemy has entered someone’s life must be identified, all sin repented before God, renounced and closed with prayer. Once you are delivered and free, maintain it by turning completely away from sin and giving no place to the enemy in your life.

Scripture Reference:

James 4:6-7 (AMP)

But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].” So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
